hannah richards is an illustrator and stationery designer living and working in london. she works with paper collage, ink and digital design to create her unique patterns in bold bright colours which are inspired by simple shapes and happy accidents.

the show ‘dizzy spell’ aims to explore pattern, space and movement, a multi media show using techniques and materials that are new to the artist.

the exhibition is designed to overwhelm the senses with a bombardment of pattern and colour, overlapped and overlaid. but instead of perfect repetition and symmetry the patterns are disrupted, breaking free and take on a life of their own and a kinetic quality.

hannah is interested in the celebration of imperfection, the resulting black humour that comes from embracing failure and destruction and the narrative and emotive quality that can be garnered from the most stripped back combination of text and object.
